A Prayer for Returning

God,

I am here.

My thoughts may have traveled ahead of me.

Part of me may still be carrying what happened yesterday.

I may be thinking about what needs to happen next, what needs to change, what needs an answer, or what still needs to be done.

But for these few moments, I return my attention to You.

You are here.

Help me notice the ground beneath me, the breath within me, and the life that is present around me.

Quiet what does not require my attention right now.

Give me grace to release what belongs to another day.

Where I have been reaching for answers, give me permission to listen.

Where I have been carrying too much, help me recognize what is actually mine to hold.

Where I have been rushing toward what comes next, remind me that I do not have to arrive there before You meet me here.

Give me today's wisdom for today's responsibilities.

Today's grace for today's needs.

Today's strength for today's work.

And enough stillness to recognize Your presence in the ordinary moments I might otherwise pass by.

I do not need to solve everything before I can rest in You.

I do not need to understand everything before I can trust You.

For this moment, let here be enough.

I am here.

And You are here, too.

Amen.
